Very useful info. I took the GRE last week, and got My professor told me some of these points, but this article is very helpful. I have headed a lot of clubs in my college and the clubs have also achived success. If you really think, the experiences you had during your work with the college clubs are close to the definition of leadership quoted above, then you should definitely write about them on your Statement of Purpose.

I am sure as the head of those clubs, you must have faced a hell lot of problems and you somehow worked them all out. While writing make sure you mention a story or two about how you solved these problems. This should add value to your profile by differentiating your SOP from the rest of the applicants.
