What happens if i save lee witcher 2

Can anybody remember when the regular Witcher 2 was upgraded to the Enhanced Edition. As you might guess I cant. The reason I ask is if the Witcher 2 was upgraded to the Enhanced Edition after , then perhaps my regular saves are not completely compatible with the new version. Could this be why I cant speak to letho. I dont want to have to start a whole new game. Not only that I am worried that I wont be able to import the end save I have got into Witcher 3.

Incidentally the reason I decided to load in my save was to try and talk to letho and spare him. Would it work if I uninstalled the game and then reinstalled it without patches. Is anybody else experiencing the same problem.
