We put cc with a filter change. Joined Aug 2, Messages 13, Likes But, since you are 16 and obviously new to the interwebs, I'll get this info for you. Mind you, I have no experience with this bike, I just used my AssClown Superpower Interweb skills to put the words " YZF engine oil capacity" into a search engine and came up with many items referred to by interweb users as "links", and one of those links had the information you need, asap.
Assuming there's no difference engine-wise between the one offered in Japan that year and the US version, the engine oil capacity is 1. Pred that bike is one that for whatever reason does not have the oil volume on the sidecover. But it is the one that Spider races. I was surprised to learn that it was still a dry sump system as well. I figured it'd be lucky to have cc. Portal Forums Photo Gallery.
I have a YZF, and i have some questions about the oil level. Starting this summer, the oil in my F is seeming to evaporate or something The bike isnt burning the oil bcuz there's no smell of oil burning coming from the exhaust At the beginning of the summer i changed the oil in the bike, without filter change. I filled the bike up with the right oil requirements 1.
Am i running the engine on oil that is too lean???? My guess is that if you are not waking up in the morning to a puddle of oil under the bike then you are burnning some when the bike is running. Just because you cannot see it via smoke doesn't mean that you aren't burning some, remember it only holds a bit over a quart so any that burns Florida The little hard to get bolts only drain out few extra drops of oil that IMO dont make a difference in the oil change.
I actually think you can get more oil out of the normal 3 places by letting it sit an extra minute after it starts dripping than you would by wasting 10mins trying to get at the 2 remaining bolts. Oh yeah, i'd get the Stainless steel filter too. Its on my Christmas list. Tree Jumper--have you cleaned the frame strainer? I read an article in the new Dirt Rider I think thats the one and it said to make sure to clean out the strainer.
I couldn't get the oil hose off of it. There is no room to move the metal tube that descends from the strainer down to the engine because the water pump protector??? The manual says to use 90Newtons to Torque the frame strainer bolt on. That is pretty darn tight! I read another article or maybe that same one that said not use the metal re-usable oil filtersI can't remember what the reason was I'm going to find that mag and read it again.
What oil do you use and how much does it cost? Is it sythetic or semi synthetic? Texas SP. Joined Nov 25, Messages 7, Likes Havent done the strainer this summer. I'll be doing it after i get my last major ride in at the end of November. As for oil i cant remember the weight 5w?? I use Yamaha's Semi Synthetic 4R oil. It takes alittle over a quart of oil.
I havent checked online prices as i try to support them when i can since they are good guys. Anssi Member. Nov 5, Joined May 20, Messages Likes 0.
